Living in Grace and Gratitude

Why do so many successful people keep a gratitude journal?

“Gratitude” is a feeling of appreciation, thankfulness, or recognition for something that one has received or experienced. It involves acknowledging and recognizing the positive aspects of one's life and expressing thanks or appreciation for them. Gratitude can be directed toward a person, a thing, an event, a circumstance, or towards yourself. It is often associated with positive emotions such as happiness, contentment, and joy and has been shown to have numerous physical and psychological benefits such as improved mental health, better sleep, increased resilience, and stronger relationships. Expressing gratitude can take many forms, such as saying "thank you," writing a thank-you note, or simply reflecting on what one is thankful for. It can be practiced daily or as needed and has been shown to improve overall well-being and happiness.

Grace and Gratitude go hand-in-hand. In a spiritual context, grace is often associated with divine mercy and favor. Living in grace generally means living with a sense of gratitude, acceptance, and forgiveness and showing compassion to oneself and others, even in difficult situations. It involves living in a state of acceptance of oneself and others, acknowledging that everyone is worthy of love and forgiveness, recognizing the beauty and goodness in the world around us, and choosing to live with a positive outlook. There are a few ways to start your journey to graceful living, but Gratitude journaling is a quick and easy way to get started.

Gratitude Journaling: What is it?

A gratitude journal is a personal journal or notebook in which individuals write down things they are grateful for on a regular basis. This type of journaling aims to cultivate a positive mindset and increase feelings of happiness and well-being. It’s one of the best ways to start living with grace and gratitude since this practice helps one recognize the blessings from a higher power and start living according to those blessings.

Why do successful people keep a gratitude journal?

Successful people often keep a gratitude journal because it helps them maintain a positive attitude and focus on the good things in their life. By regularly reflecting on what they are grateful for, successful people are able to develop a sense of perspective and maintain a positive outlook, even during challenging times.

Some of the benefits of keeping a gratitude journal include:

  1. Increased happiness and well-being: Regularly focusing on what you are grateful for can help shift your perspective and increase feelings of happiness and contentment.

Thank you Kevin!

I enjoyed your first blog and hope to read more as you include more of your thoughts on your website. The list of benefits for keeping a Gratitude Journal is something that would encourage anyone to continue journaling! I have written journals for years and find it comes naturally to me as a lifelong learner, student and teacher. The more grateful for receiving I am, it seems the more I manifest. Another benefit for me is that it keeps my handwriting neater. When I don't write, my penmanship suffers! In this day of texting, it seems that cursive writing is becoming a lost art!

With much gratitude,
